Too Cold, Too Far & Too Flu

SURREY SENIOR CUP QUARTER FINAL

Att : 78

Ashford Town (Middx) – 1  [McDonald 45]

Sutton United – 2  [Arkour 18],  [S.Watson 36]

I didn’t attend this one as it’s a bit of a bastard to get to (what with it being in Middlesex and all), I had the flu & it was fucking freezing.

So this report is a mix of observations from fellow sufferer/beer hound Bob & stats from the Proggie. (So it’ll be crap as well!)

Sutton travelled to Middlesex (Eh!?! Oh never mind….) for a SURREY (Yep, Surrey. Not Middlesex….) Senior Cup Quarter Final on this freezing cold Tuesday night (Well, Bob did & that’s what Bob said….) and eased into the Semi’s with a steady 2-1 win. U’s apparently hit the woodwork twice early on before Mark Watson laid the ball to Naz who rolls the ball into an empty net after 18 minutes. More attempts to damage the paintwork on the post/crossbar ensemble follow before Steve Watson doubles our advantage after 36 minutes.

Slack defending (Sutton? Slack at the back? No, never!!) lets an Ashford forward halve the deficit right on half time though, so it’s not all plain sailing.

The second half sees Mark Watson attacking the frame of the goal at the opposite end of the field so it doesn’t feel left out and not much else as the game apparently ‘petered out a bit’ (Must have a chat with Bob about his observational skills and range of vocabulary) with stand in ‘keeper Espinosa apparently producing a good stop right at the end to prevent a replay no one wanted.

Oh, we’ve got Woking at home in the Semi-Final by the way. Interesting.

Man of the Match : Er…….

Entertainment Value : Ummmm….
